Once again the Pickwick Painters, (Amanda J Pickles and Penny Wicks) will be hosting their annual Art Exhibition in the Memorial Hall, Pickering, at Easter.

The artists have been working hard all year to create a fresh and exciting new collection for 2010. Their work comprises watercolours, mixed media, acrylics, pastel, collage, pen and wash and batik, so there is something to suit everyone's taste.

Over the last few years, the contrast between Amanda and Penny's work have provoked much interest and discussion. Amanda's paintings are usually acrylic or mixed media contemporary abstract interpretations of the world around her, with an imaginative use of colour, whilst Penny's are more subtle representational works in different mediums, often inspired by North Yorkshire's beautiful landscape and     attractions.

Also on sale this year will be prints from original paintings (ideal for posting as gifts) and blank greetings cards from originals, (always popular), so there will be something to suit everyone's pockets too.

They will also be serving their own delicious home made cakes with tea or coffee, so why not pop in for an Easter treat.

The exhibition runs from Friday 2nd April (Good Friday) until Friday 9th April from 10am to 5pm, at the Memorial Hall, Pickering.
